Discipline: Professional Concept

Accuray’s fourth generation CyberKnife Robotic Radiosurgery System concept uses radiation to treat hard-to-reach tumors. The patient comfortably reclines on a robotically controlled couch that is positioned to optimize the radiation beam paths according to a doctor’s custom treatment plan. The primary goal was for the system to look visually integrated and sophisticated to reflect the advanced nature of the technology. The system also needed to communicate safety, comfort, reliability, and timeless high technology without appearing futuristic. It was especially important to provide a great degree of patient comfort.
