Although it is categorized as a white wine, Pinot Gris captivates with its reddish-grey grape skin. The label design refers both to the unusual colour of the grape skin, and the fact that this wine gets its special finish in the wine cellar during the smooth maturing process in oak barrels. From „Ruländer“ and „Pinot Gris“ to „Blauer Riesling“ – there are over 220 synonyms for Pinot Gris. Its initial letters are also frequently recorded on the label, written in chalk, as the variety denomination is noted in the wine cellar on the barrels.
