Wearing face masks has become a global necessity since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The number of masks discarded daily is increasing with mask consumption. As disposable masks are a low-cost, mass product, no solution exists for secondary use at present. Thus, mass consumption of disposable masks is becoming a serious environmental issue. We have considered various methods for recycling masks and developed the Re-born Mask Box, a "dispose-to-recycle" solution that encourages users to dispose of masks in an environmentally-friendly way.
