Livestock herding tents / Energy and weather efficient

Transhumance pastoralism is a century-old occupation and a formidable part of the local economy in the trans-Himalayan region. Each herder keeps two to four herding stations where they seasonally move in rotation with their livestock every year. Regular maintenance of these stations is instrumental that requires an increasing amount of timber. In these remote and inaccessible pasturelands, high dependency on forest resources is the only choice for local herders. Hence, the project plans to replace the traditional herding sheds through the improved herding canvas tents which reduces timber extraction and enhance their living conditions.
