Bukhara Carpet making

Bukhara carpets were famous in the world. In the beginning of XX century in the collection of Bukhara Emir were about 10,000 carpets. Ruler of Bukhara gave carpets as a present to the respected guests. Unfortunately, traditions of carpet making Bukhara is partly lost today.
In order to revive traditions of Bukhara carpet making, we started to work with archival materials in the funds of museums in our country and books. We achieved to revive some patterns of Bukhara carpets, especially examples of 15th and 16th century.
According to these patterns we started making handmade carpets. Till today we made several hand knotted carpets.
