Worship candles play an important role in Taiwanese religion, which people light to ask for blessings for themselves and their families. The line art drawing used on the outer gift box recalls the flickering of the light of worship candles. Tawainese people are often shy and traditionally would wrap gifts with paper, the insides of which contained a hidden message. Untying the red ribbons on this gift box reveals a hidden message on the box's inside, a re-interpretation of the understated, discreet ways the Tawainese use to express their emotions in the giving of a gift.
