The Musselblomma collection is made from recycled plastics, including plastic waste collected on the Spanish coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Designed by Inma Bermúdez, the collection is inspired by the shapes and colours of the sea. The project is developed in collaboration with Seaqual, an initiative that aims to clean the oceans of waste. 1,500 Spanish fishermen collaborate in the collection of plastics from the sea. These plastics are then processed into the raw material with which IKEA has created the collection. Its entire supply and production chain is also located in Spain and it is a collection with zero margin.
