Trans-grandstand is designed to permit social distancing in stadia by retrofitting existing facilities with spatial dividers. This allows for a relatively easy and low-cost conversion of a large public space to compliance with measures undertaken to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. This is a clever modular solution that allows sporting and cultural audiences to continue enjoying the spectacles they love, and organizations to better withstand the economic pressure of a health emergency, all while preventing the spread of infectious disease.

Trans-grandstand offers a smart and resource-efficient public solution to the problem of disease transmission in large public spaces. It transforms stadium seats into shared facilities. The modules can be assembled in various formats for different scenarios. Its high degree of flexibility is vital in permitting adaptation to various types of public emergency.

I feel incredibly honored to have been selected to receive the iF DESIGN TALENT AWARD. I sincerely thank the Chinese people for their collective wisdom which contributed to the successful response to the epidemic. I hope this design is promoted globally, to help save more lives in emergencies. In the future, I hope to make the world a better place through design.
