New wave / Architecture

New wave

Since the 1960s, Seong Su Dong in Seoul had a high concentration of leather, sewing, and metal factories which developed areas where antiquated characteristics were emphasized. However, this transformation raised issues with gentrification and evicted existing handmade factories. Therefore, I propose a sustainable platform that encompasses partnership between artisans and apprentices, revitalization of the street, and enhancement of sales, while preserving the historical authenticity and the identity of Seong Su Dong.
