Palliative care is specialised medical care for people living with a serious life-threatening illness. They treat people suffering from the symptoms and stress of serious illnesses such as cancer and many more. The goal of palliative care is to relieve suffering and provide the best possible quality of life for patients and their families. In Burundi, This concept of care is still at its embryonic phase yet Chronic non communicable diseases are on rise. The project seeks to train and equip healthcare providers and health facilities to provide this concept of care to needy patients most of them dying their homes due to lack of service access.
