For eons, our ancestors have been protecting valuables and collection through rope & knots. The material of the lock production evolved from bamboo to wood, with metal components gradually appearing only after the Han dynasty.
The main purpose of “lock” is to protect valuables or private collection. In addition to its main function, its appearance has also gradually taken on aspects of culture and art. It’s no longer a mere protector for valuables, but also signifies the well wishes that one bestows on the things that deemed of great value to them in life, thus becoming an integral part of important domestic or personal decoration.
