asFinger / Wearable Robot


At-home rehabilitation with cognitive assistance, protection of self-esteem, and improvement on the quality of life are the major demands from post-stroke survivors.

Drawing inspirations from lobster claw, we present asFinger as a light, soft, and cost-effective wearable system. The robot works with the user's forearm to assist the manipulation of daily life objects.

asFingers are mechanically intelligent with omni-directional adaptation, reconfigurable based on personal need, and smart in detecting user’s intentions using vision-based tactile sensing inside the finger in combination with an external depth vision for ambient intelligence.
