Q / Smart Cane Concept

Q
Q

253 million people in the world have low vision and 36 million people are completely blind. Blind people are 3 times more likely to be unemployed, and 3 times more likely to be involved in a motor vehicle collision. The existing canes meet the need of the users, but there is a great opportunity to improve the design. Q is a smart cane designed for people with low to no vision, intended to assure, assist, and enhance the commute of the user. Q will notify the user of obstacles and guide the user on their commute via voice and haptic feedback.
