THE TIME OF AWAKENING is a long poem by Hu Feng, a famous poet in China, where the name of this book originates. By collecting relevant literatures and cultural relics, this book records the development of literature and arts in Wuhan from 1949 to 1959. Its designer and co-author, in his process of writing and designing, imagines himself as an art lover at the time, and tells the story of literature and art history in an autobiographic tone. Over 200 pieces of clipping, hand-painting and handwriting,present a witness’s diary to readers.
