About 78% urban residents in Shenzhen never reuse their not-in-used objects or waste, even though some are new. Resource waste like this impacts on ecological problems like ocean littering. So, our challenge is to make reusing, or repurposing a daily behavior. We designed Repurpose Space to encourage community residents to repurpose their objects. They can seek tools, equipment, repurposing instructions there. Besides, we integrated parcel collecting service into the space service. This can help to fund the operation of the space. We also made it a social space to enhance interactions between communities so as to diminish community isolation.
