Tomatoes-Help / Concept for reducing tomato waste in transport

Tomatoes-Help
Tomatoes-Help

As small farmers tomato growers in Africa can't afford effective storage facilities and tomatoes are fragile, there is a lot of waste caused by decay and damage during transportation every year. FAO proposes that a reasonable selection of tomato maturity, sorting and packing according to maturity can reduce rotten tomatoes. TOMATOES-HELP is a low-cost auxiliary harvesting process designed for poor smallholder tomato growers based on this principle. This concept aims to use low-cost tools to motivate and facilitate farmers' sorting, optimize the picking and transportation links, and reduce the waste of tomatoes in the transportation proccess.
