These two tools demonstrate how unique, highly innovative design can actively increase productivity. The polygon chisel features a cruciform cross-section which tapers convexly to a point over the working length. The chisel thus wears quicker at the edges than in the center, so the point remains permanently sharp. This ensures constant high performance over a long lifetime, without need for time-consuming resharpening. Moreover, the chisel forces dust and fragments out along the shank, greatly reducing the tendency to stick. Hilti polygon chisels are excellent examples of how design and engineering can be combined to achieve perfect results.
