Save the Children India over the past 3 years worked with govt. of West Bengal and Jharkhand states to develop a cadre of 60 accredited community-based workers to identify, support and capacitate children in need of care and protection. The intervention bridged the gap in implementation of the govt’s program - Integrated Child Protection Scheme - to safeguard children at-risk. Accredited by Council for Awards in Care, Health & Education UK, the Cadre, comprising of local women, reduced vulnerability of 6745 children through psycho-social first-aid, referral to health or institutional care, skilling, and access to govt social security schemes.
