Mozambicans face barriers related to extreme poverty. PCI Media partners with UNICEF and Radio Mozambique on a communication initiative, Ouro Negro (Black Gold), to address these barriers. Grounded in Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) methodology, Ouro Negro is an Entertainment-Education (E-E) program that uses a highly participatory approach to foster behavior change. At its heart, Ouro Negro is an entertaining serial drama in Portuguese that reaches target audiences through 118 radio station partners. In addition, 36 stations co-produce Ouro Negro au Vivo, a live, weekly call-in show in 21 local Mozambican languages.
