The Pink Shuttle / Boosting Women’s Independence

Free mobility is still a dream for Afghan women. Most women are forbidden to cycle and to take motorcycles, taxis or buses driven by men. The Pink Shuttle aims is to create the first commercial transportation service driven by female drivers for female passengers, in Kabul. Its contribution to women’s economic and social independence is to provide them with an income from running the start-up and offering them the possibility to commute freely and safely in the city. Women will be easily accessing education’s facilities and work opportunities. The Pink Shuttle has offered to date more than 10,800 rides to over 100 women.
