SPARSH / Educating Deafblind Children

Deafblindness is a unique and complex disability, where a person has vision as well as hearing impairment. Deafblind children due to their inability to communicate face neglect and isolation and in countries like India are completely left out of the education system. The project works with deafblind children and provides them early intervention, education, healthcare, vocational training and rehabilitation services. The project through its partnership with Inclusive Education programme of government of India, 63,500+ deafblind children have been enrolled in mainstream schools and are receiving education.
