Laboratorio Div.ergo / Handmade Workshop

Div.ergo is a new welfare model that combines cultural, social and work inclusion. It's a craft workshop in Lecce (Italy) which involves 21 people with intellectual disabilities in a work and cultural experience to guarantee them power, social and mental well-being. Three of them have an employment contract. The artifacts exhibited and sold all over the world are made by them in collaboration with some volunteers and craftsmen. Each creation was born after the study of the artists and their masterpieces to provide people with disabilities with new cultural skills. The project started in 2009, promoted by a non-profit foundation.
