Smart Agriculture / Water resilience

Quetta is a capital city of the Balochistan province in Pakistan. It is one of the most deprived and worst effected regions in the country. Due to the draught, the water table is low and it is very hard to grow vegetables/crops/fruits. We have addressed this concern by developing an IoT based solution to optimise the use of water for local crops and fruit orchards. The soil moisture sensors collect data and update it on the server where it gets connected with the mobile phone through Thingspeak/tweets. It informs farmers when to release water to the crops. By using this technology, the water efficiency and crop yield has improved almost 40%.
