Promoting kitchen gardens / to end hunger

Promoting kitchen gardens

Tea farmers have allocated a large percentage of their farms to tea, which is a perennial plant. At certain times of the year, i.e. low season often, tea farmers go hungry since they have no income to purchase food at the local market. In addition, they cannot source the food from, the market. COSDEP therefore came up with a project where the farmers are trained and demonstrated on how to practice ecological farming and some of the plants used were vegetables. We also trained them on how to utilize small spaces of land by introducing kitchen gardens and portable gardens.
