In 2017 we saw 113 sexual gender based violence (SGBV) cases per month being reported, on average, in our focus communities. Great work was being done to bring information to communities, but no one was recognizing community themselves AS THE SOLUTION to SGBV. That is where we decided to be different & launched our SWATT TEAMs, training & activating community members in trauma and referral response. Since 2018, 237 have been trained to address SGBV. 2 community places of safety have been established. 150 SGBV interventions have taken place. 189 weekly or monthly community meetings occur with dedicated time to address mindset change & SGBV.
