“STAR” virtual friend / Concept for VR training

“STAR” virtual friend

Children with autism have challenges on issues of social skills that seriously impact their lives. This design adopts virtual reality technology to create virtual environments to help autistic children with social skills, such as how to communicate with friends and handle with a problem with a friend. This learning design uses a game with avatars to interactive with children. After the virtual training, we hope that the child is able to learn the basic skills on how to make friends and sort out the simple problems. We used "Star" virtual friend as the title, as a "star" is often used to descript a child with autism.
