The progressive development of artificial muscles will have a major impact on modern medicine, in particular on the clinical picture of paralysis or paresis, as occurs for example in stroke patients. ReCover is an arm orthosis that is designed to accelerate the rehabilitation of paralyzed patients by actively supporting weakened limbs. The mobilization of paralyzed extremities makes it possible to carry out everyday movement patterns again, whereby a permanent training of the musculature, the nerves and the brain takes place. To avoid dependency, ReCover’s support is permanently adapted to the individual’s own muscle strength.
