"Smart trunk" is an IoT device for detecting forest fires. The system focuses on the creation of a realistic low-cost and low-energy device that can last for at least three years in the forest without maintenance. The system combines a fire sensor, a microcontroller (MCU) from the Arduino family and a Sigfox Monarch module WSG309S that is connected to the Sigfox 0G network. In case of fire, the smart trunk will transmit a warning message to firefighters, and the sensor itself would provide location information, shortening the response time of firefighters, the more sensors installed de better accuracy in detection.
