Scrap and Save / Urban composting service

Scrap and Save
Scrap and Save

Scrap and Save utilizes an incentive system based on the weight of garbage diverted from the landfill. Its unique scale providing a metric from which to assign points encourages users in urban areas to start composting. A pickup service then takes the household waste to an industrial scale composting operation that then sells nutrient rich soil to local farmers. To receive the compost at a discount, the farmers can elect to donate produce or plants to provide rewards to consumers. Restaurants or companies with a sustainable focus can also elect to participate in Scrap and Save.
