Sauti Yangu (My voice) is the radio program that aim to engage citizens, amplify their voices and hold government accountable for solving water crisis in rural Tanzania.
We visit villagers who walked up to 5 km to access water that was often dirty, diseased, or dangerous to access because government water sources were broken or unavailable. In many cases, villagers left with no choice. One of the area which we aired the program, Ministry of Water announced a fund worth 500$ million. The project is expected to benefit 600,000 citizens.
We believe that Sauti Yangu’s unique approach has the power to amplify the voices of rural citizens.
