Economic Empowerment of Women with Disabilities / Moving from a Charity to a Rights-Based Approach

A pilot project to provide vocational trainings along with small grants/assets to Women Artisans with Disabilities in select union councils of Islamabad, Karachi and Peshawar in Pakistan. The salient interventions have enabled employment linkages for Women Artisans with Disabilities with the ILO Chamber of Commerce, Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Peshawar, various trade associations as well as reputed fashion retail outlets in Pakistan. Moreover, Disabled Persons Organisations have been linked with private sector employers to create employment opportunities for Women Artisans with Disabilities in the respective communities.
