Hifive / Service Design-Education

Hifive is a seal-shaped educational recycling bin. The target user is 6-8 year old children who are not familiar with separating garbages.
It has a garbage-textured plate on each palm. The textures are different depending on what type of the trash bin is. One plate on a high-five pose palm is to stroke and learn how the specific kind of trash feels. The other plate on the other palm is for making sound of the trash, so that users learn how it sounds.
With Hifive, children understand the characteristics of each type of garbage more interestingly. By making good habits on processing trash, children can also be co-workers on waste management.
