During the Japanese occupation of Taiwan, all sugarcane was requisitioned by the occupation forces. In order to circumvent this, Taiwanese farmers made it into a kind of sweet called Bai Tang Cong. This is how this product packaging concept got its name, "Hide and Sweet". However, the technique of making Bai Tang Cong has been dying out, and more and more people don't even know what Bai Tang Cong is. In their research, the designers found that 76% of consumers were attracted by the story of how this product originated. Therefore, they designed a series of packages that show people how Bai Tang Cong is made.

Thanks to our instructor giving us endless help and suggestions. We are delighted to accept this award. We believe that design can change society for the better. We are grateful to IF for giving us the opportunity to introduce Bai Tang Cong to the world.
