Guinea-Bissau is one of the 13 countries with the worst HDI in the world, and most of its population lives below the poverty line. “Friends of Guinea-Bissau” is a Brazilian humanitarian education program that aims to transform the reality of this country. The program offers scholarships, teacher training, school construction and renovation, access to food (for students and teachers), and sanitation and solar energy in schools. The program operates in 7 schools and 2 universities, benefiting more than 1.4 thousand youth and children every day. The program contributed to transforming one of the schools in a reference in education in the country
