Inclusive Creative Arts / Arts-Based Disability Program

Sibikwa Arts Centre’s Inclusive Creative Arts Programme focuses on people, aged 7 – 30, living with physical and mental disabilities, and out-of-school out-of-work youth, often marginalised for not responding well to typical teaching and learning methods. This 37-week programme allows learners the necessary time to be grounded and focused, and for real development and change to happen. Offering group-based classes in dance, drama, poetry and drumming, it promotes the benefits of arts experiences for encouraging expression, forming identity and community, and growing the confidence and capacity in individuals to realise their potential.
