Since 2005 ACRA has been promoting the One House, One Tap Program in Casamance - south of Senegal to guarantee human rights to water, sanitation and hygiene by ensuring transparency, integrity, accountability, equity, and social gender inclusion, working with local authorities.
So far ACRA realized 7 water networks, 4.700 individual taps, benefiting about 70.000 people. It means 24/24 accessibility to safe drinking water to all houses, schools, health and community buildings. ACRA promoted also awareness-raising campaigns for local communities and institutions. The strategy for the coming years is to reach other areas and villages in Senegal.
