Healthy Home Kits / Smokeless Stoves for Families

Habitat for Humanity Guatemala has built over 38,000 improved stoves since the year 2010. The smokeless stoves have many advantages for the well-being of its beneficiaries, including an assembly process that is easy to learn, a faster cooking time, less firewood usage and a design that carries harmful smoke out of the household. With the provided technical assistance, partner families participate in the construction of the stoves and are trained in long-term maintenance. This helps to minimize the possibilities of the technology being abandoned, which further contributes to the sustainability of the project.
