SuperGirls / Trauma and well-being support for refugee girls

SuperGirls is a trauma sensitive well-being focused program for girls between the ages of 6 and 12 from refugee and economically disadvantaged communities in Amman, Jordan. It aims to build confidence and develop skills in communication, problem-solving, emotional regulation and self-expression. It also includes an emphasis on healthy living and self-care; each session provides a healthy snack and many activities encourage physical activity and meditation. The curriculum has a cultural focus incorporating activities on culturally specific art, games, songs, cuisine and stories; this gives girls a sense of ownership and pride over the topics.
