Accidental falls and cardiovascular diseases are among the top causes of death among the elderly. The LIFELOOP cane tackles both problems. First, the handle has an integrated single-lead EKG detector. This collects EKG data while the user holds the cane, and synchs to the Lenovo Health Cloud once the cane is returned to its charging dock. This allows the user or their carer to regularly avail of a cardio health report using the Lenovo Health app. Second, the cane has a triangular rubber grip on the handle and a broad base, both of which offer greater friction, grip, and stability. The LIFELOOP cane's symmetric form represents a balance of form and function and reflects the concept of balance in health and nature that is integral to Chinese philosophy.
