Haiti is ranked 168 in 189 countries in the UNDP Human Development Index 2018: it is not only the poorest country in the Carribbean Area, buto one of the poorest in the world. Since April protests and turmoils have spread in Haiti and most of all in Port-au-Prince, Haiti's capital. Here the situation, ignored by media and Western Countries, is getting worse every day. Despite violence and difficulties, Fondazione Francesca Rava and Fondation St. Luc try to give to the 1200 children enrolled in our Street Schools in Cité Soleil, one of the poorest slums in Port-au-Prince, the opportunity to have basic instruction, and hope for the future.
