“less but better – weniger aber besser!” is the title of an exhibition with products, designed by Dieter Rams, which was held in the autumn of 2005 in the oldest Zen temple in Japan, the Kenninji in Kyoto. To go along with this, the initiator of the exhibition, Miki Shimokawa, and f/p design have created the book “less but better – the world of Dieter Rams” and published it in a private publishing venture. It concerns the personality and the aesthetic mindset of Dieter Rams, and his everyday life in his residential house in Kronberg, photographed by Thomas Mayer, and statements on Dieter Rams and his complete works are in the foreground here.
