Many of today's online applications give users the opportunity to work and or play together in a collaborative way using data synchronisation. The Mutant project is based on research and experiments using digital music creation applications in collaboration.
The center of the multiplayer application Mutant is the Tesseract, a four-dimensional body. Its eight cubic cells represent eight different switchable musical perspectives. Each provides own tonal characteristics and tempo. Users can record loops of melodies, rhythms and intuitively changed audio effects via touch gestures.
