This project adopts a "culture+commerce" design strategy that takes its cues from the culture of the city of Xi'an. The design team created a bookstore-themed commercial & cultural complex that has successfully attracted customers in spite of the remote location, thanks to the presence of many lifestyle stores and businesses. The building's original, open atrium was retained in this nearly 40,000-sqm space to create an impressive feeling of spaciousness. The striking, innovative artistic book walls measure 18 meters high and 240 meters long and are now a new iconic image of an urban shopping destination in Xi’an and throughout China.
