The intention of this art installation is to create a sensation akin to a warm current that makes viewers and listeners feel calm, relaxed, tranquil and safe amidst the hustle and bustle of the city. The rainstick instrument rotates to produce a constant and naturalistic sound. In the 12-meter-high space, noiseKitchen installed 80 tailor-made winders along with forty hanging sound sticks that swing freely in the space. A software program moves the sound sticks like forty dancers moving through the air. The sticks produce random sounds similar to waves pounding the shore and are also precisely synchronized in their mechanical movement.
