In Argentina, 40% of children under 5 are poor. Moreover, 1 in 4 children aged 0-3 suffers three deprivations in their upbringing: no one reads to or plays with them, they do not attend an educational center and they suffer from physical or verbal abuse. In 2018, Crianza Juntos, an evidence-based initiative by CEPE, took quality education grounded in the Montessori method to 315 children between 0-3 years. The project promotes women’s empowerment by strengthening the capacity of 100 women as qualified caregivers in 9 day-care centers in poor areas of Buenos Aires.
