People who make ads are considered ”hucksters”, ”manipulators” and ”liars”. As Morley Safer said on “60 Minutes“: ”They’re con artists who’ll do anything for a buck.” But outsiders don’t know how good ads are made, the amount of thinking that goes into them, or the constraints surrounding them. They also don’t know the contribution which truly creative advertising makes to the economy or society as a whole.
