The thesis entitled “26 Houses of Thought“ wends its way between typography and architecture. The focal point moves from the builder-as-scribe to the building-as-storyteller, through the development of the cathedral facade as a vessel of knowledge and media facades as advertising channels. A close inspection and interpretation of everyday signs is
taken from varying distances and perspectives, as well as from a theoretical and artistic point of view. Twenty-six chapters – reflecting the letters of the alphabet – build a dramaturgical zoom from the cityscape and building facades to letters as structures. The last three chapters are not only presented in book form, but are also transformed into a digital medium and interactive application.
