Exhibition at the Museum for Applied Arts, Cologne. No money for culture! It was clear right from the beginning that the exhibition (including design and display, material and technical equipment, and fees) as well as its communication should not cost anything – a challenging task. The exhibition design, developed together with Thomas Rentmeister, was completely constructed of polystyrene. In correspondence with this cheap material the only printed matter produced was made of newsprint of 40 grams and printed in a web offset printing process. It was designed for a number of different uses, consisting of a folded poster of an A2 sheet that, when you cut open the edges, turned into a newspaper or, alternatively, after folding it a few times, an invitation card. The complete communication package weighed less than 20 grams, thus keeping mailing costs low.
