The Vessel / Solar power & lighting design training initiative

True self-sufficiency requires both energy and knowledge to be sustainable. The Vessel is a charity initiative focused on training local electricians about solar power & high quality architectural lighting design to increase their employment potential. The training is then cemented with the practical installation of solar-based lighting scheme at a selected community space. The first project was implemented in Gambia at a 24/7 accessible library. The aim of the project is to eliminate the power cuts and costs indefinitely, whilst improving everyday experience of public spaces through design where lighting is an essential need.
