The Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights in Poverty (SRHRP) Project seeks to counter social taboos that negatively impact young adolescents’ well-being and respond to the reality that most girls in rural areas in Ghana, West Africa do not go to school because they lack access to sanitary pads and corresponding reproductive health education. The project takes a three-way approach to supporting girls thus:
Delivering pads and menstrual health education, Training young girls in commercial skills such as bead making to serve as stimulants for entrepreneurship, and Leading policy and advocacy.
